Free time in Malta - Jenna

On my free time I've been shopping and chilling at the aparment with the girls. I went shopping with Annika, Jennina and our teacher Anna. We went to Sliema with is a pretty city in Malta. We went to the Mc Donalds at first then we went to shopping and we went to this one nice restaurant and we drank wine and sparkling wine. Then we went home and Ankika and I went to Paceville for a few drinks.

Jennan viimeinen viikko Carisma Spassa

Viimeisellä viikolla teimme hierontaa ja kasvohoitoja. Kävimme taas koulutuksia läpi Florentan kanssa. Teimme vahauksia sekä harjoittelimme lankomista. Olisimme muuten tehneet turkish bath hoitoa, mutta kun kaikki kolme olimme kovassa flunssassa oli parempi, ettei mennä lämpimään hammam huoneeseen. Viimeisenä työpäivänä Anna opettaja oli hoidoissa meidän hoitolassa ! :) Odotin työssäoppimis jaksolta paljon enemmän, mutta olen kuitenkin tyytyväinen, että opin uusia hieronta tekniikoita, lankomisen sekä sain käyttää englannin kieltä. Nyt on hieno työkokemus takana jota muistella hyvällä :)

Jennan toinen viikko Carisma Spassa

Toisella viikolla Carisma Spassa harjoittelimme erilaisia hieronta tekniikoita ja näimme kuinka lomi lomi massage ja chinese massage tehdään. Teimme taas turkish bath hoitoja. Meille myös näytettiin kuinka kasvohoito tehdään Carisma Span tapaan. Florenta niminen nainen piti meille erillasia koulutuksia, joista on varmasti jatkossa hyötyä Emme oikeen saaneet toisella viikolla tehdä mitään muuta.

Jennan ensimmäinen viikko Carisma Spassa

Aloitimme työt Hennin ja Lauran kanssa Carisma Spassa, ensimmäisellä työviikolla tutustuimme hoitolan tapoihin, työntekijöihin ja hieman hoitoihin. Meille näytettiin hieronta tekniikoita, jalka- ja käsihoito span tapaan. Jalka ja käsihoito erosi meidän tavastamme silleen, että he eivät käytä veistä vaan pelkkää raspia sekä he leikkasivat kynsinauhat, kun me vaan työntelemme. Pääsimme myös hieman hammam huoneen huumaan, teimme turkish bath hoitoa. Viihdyin ensimmäisellä viikolla Carisma Spassa, vaikka olikin välillä hankaluuksia ymmärtää joidenkin työntekijöiden puhetta.

Hieman vapaa-ajasta T:Arina

Tääl Maltalla on todella hyvänmakuiset vihannekset ja olen syönyt joka päivä salaattia sen takia 8D meidän asunnon lähellä on "Big Fresh" niminen hedelmä/vihannes kauppa, joka on yhden minun mentoreista äidin omistama! Sieltä molempien flatsien asukkaat ovat hakeneet herkkuja. Myös on tullu maistettua erilaisia paikallisia kakkuja ja leivoksia  kuten pastizzi, joka on perinteisesti täynnä ricotta juustoa, mutta ite pidin enemmän pizelli täytteestä, joka on siis herne/tahnaa.
Parina viikonloppuna kävin Paceville nimisessä paikassa, joka on siis pikku"kylä" täynnä baareja ja klubeja. Viikonloppuna siellä on mahdotonta olla, ihmismassa on valtava. Hauskaa oli nähdä millaista yöelämää täällä maltalla on, mutta tuli kovempi koti-ikävä.
Jouduin olemaan töistä poissa kun on ollut mahdollisesti kuumetta ja outoa flunssan oireilua. Todennäköisesti johtui  homeesta mitä täällä on paljon, ja kylmyydestä. Kävin lääkärissä, lääkäri ei sanonut mikä minulla on, kirjoitti lääkkeitä ja niillä sitten mentiin eteenpäin.
Töiden takia ei ollut kauheasti aikaa vierailla paljon eri paikoissa, mutta Valletta ja Sliema nähty.
Nyt pakataan ja odotetaan että viimeinen päivä saapuis, siinä toivossa ettei laukkujen paino mene yli eikä tarvis maksaa :D

Vapaa-aika

Vapaa-aikanani olen tehnyt opinnäytetyötä, shoppaillut, kahvitellut, käynyt syömässä, hop on hop off retkellä, kuvaillut, sekä juhlinut. Opinnäytetyöni olen saanut lähes valmiiksi. Kaupoilta olen löytynyt muunmuassa nahkatakin, bleiserin, hameen, topin ja korkokengät sekä tuliaisia. Maltalta löytyy monia eri vaatekauppoja, kuin suomesta. Täällä ostoskeskukset ovat melko pieniä. Ruoka on yleisesti ottaen hyvää. Pacevillen yöelämässä riitti vilskettä ja monen moisia baareja ja clubeja. Hon on hop off retki oli mielestäni mukava, sillä oli kiva nähdä Maltan toista päätä, jossa sijaitsee muunmuassa Blue Lagoon. Ainoa miinus oli kylmä ja kova tuuli, johon olin onneksi osannut varautua.

Last days at Ramla Bay

Our last days at work were somewhat difficult. Mostly because of one of our mentors who were cranky to us every step of the way. She didn't communicate very well with other mentors, and we got lots of mixed messages from her. For example about bringing and taking away the towels. We suppose to bring fresh towels from the laundry few times a day, but the laundry lady isn't always there so sometimes we have to call the laundry room to check if she's there. Many times after calling the laundry (with no answer) we waited at the reception, and The mentor came with sort of disappointed (in us) face and asking if we could get the towels, before even asking if we (with the help of other mentor who were sitting next to us) tried to call the laundry or anything. 

Many times she also asked to take used towels to the laundry, even though we can't because of the small amount of them. We got instructed at the laundry that we absolutely can not bring half full trolley of towels so the wash won't go to waste. But The mentor were insisting almost every time that we have to. Once we refused so the laundry lady won't get mad, so The mentor took the trolley by herself. Other mentors were telling us the same thing, that we shouldn't take the half full trolley etc. And they also told us that when The mentor gets something in her head, it's hard to get it out, she has her own temper and so on. So we didn't take it very close to heart but it didn't feel very nice. 

She also ordered us to do things that were impossible to do, for example to get something from the closet, and she spoke with that "are you stupid?" tone in her voice when that task was impossible to complete (because the item we supposed to get were missing). So she just continued with "What can't you understand" attitude, until other mentor came in the room and informed that "Btw I already took that from the closed this morning". Then after an "Oh?" and with no apology The mentor just continued with her own things. And same attitude she showed to the customers. She never praises or shows any sort of respect to us. Only good thing she does sometimes is letting us home earlier. 

And then we heard that is we don't do treatments then we have to watch, everything time. We can't learn anything from just watching? And we couldn't use the billing system anymore because someone made a mistake few times, so we were completely useless the rest of our time. Mentors asked their manager if we could finish our work earlier because of two other students from Spain. There were no space for all if us anyways so we finished and went home on 25.3.15 

Even though our day started again with The mentor talking to Maiju with sarcasm we got to go "home" and finish work.
I'm going to miss two of our mentors,  they were sweet and professional, and those German tourists complaining abut the "don't throw water on stones" sauna policy :) By the way, I don't think Maltese people realise that sauna heaters are made with an idea to throw water on them, they were saying, that because of the electricity no one can use water with it. Oh well. :D With positive attitude we are going to enjoy our last days on Maltese islands :)
